Jordan reportedly purchased 60,000 tonnes of milling wheat at $313.95 per tonne, including cost and freight (C&F), on 27 October 2026. A day later, it issued another international tender seeking up to 120,000 tonnes of milling wheat for shipment in January and February 2027.
What were the wheat purchase terms?
The 60,000-tonne purchase was reportedly awarded to CHS for shipment in the first half of February 2027. Other offers included $317.48/t C&F from Cargill and $329.77/t C&F from Ameropa.
The tender had sought up to 120,000 tonnes, with the reported purchase covering half that quantity.
What does the new wheat tender cover?
The new tender closes on 3 November 2026. Jordan is seeking wheat in 60,000-tonne consignments across four possible shipment windows: 1–15 January, 16–31 January, 1–14 February and 15–28 February 2027.
The requested volume remains subject to the tender outcome. It is additional to the 60,000 tonnes already reported purchased.
What does it mean for traders and processors?
For wheat traders, the purchase provides a recent C&F price reference for February shipment, while the new tender presents another opportunity to offer supply. Comparing that price with other business requires checking quality specifications, shipment periods and freight costs.
For millers and other wheat processors, the result offers a reference when reviewing forward supplier offers. Its relevance to their own procurement depends on the wheat specification and the cost of delivery to their location.
The next tender result will provide another indication of the prices sellers are prepared to offer for early-2027 shipment.
